My little brother also celebrates a brthday in February. He will be eight. Though I have a few masculine stamps I don't have stamps for young boy cards but this particular stamp suits his gift so I decided to use it.
We got him a terrarium kit where he can grow his own prehistoric creatures. It is a smithsonian kit from Michaels and I really hope he likes it. My other little brother was really into the science type of nonfiction books and such so here's for hoping that this one is too.

snow shoe fun
At the boxing day sales this year I bought a set of snow shoes for myself and a set for my daughter. We love to be on them together but when Brooke is with me I do not go very far or very fast...lol! My girl is out on a playdate today so took girl #2 (Micah) out for some running and it was so much fun.
Doing what I love
I took some time out of the day to do something I love. Yep, stamp. My little sister is turning 10 in February so I got her gift all wrapped up and decided I should make a card. I used a bit of the wrapping paper as a border on the card and I used a princess stamp set I had not pulled out in a long time!
Differentiation
Since this is a new stamp set I decided to play with it last night and I made one other card. I like this one better than the others. Though I did not use glitter on this one and I do so love the glitter...lol!
upgraded card
I made a new version of my fairy card. It is the same design but I was more careful with my ink this time. I also added an extra little piece of bling just for fun!

Glitterizing Update....
Okay...for my friend that just had to see....I am posting a pic....
This is a new stamp set I had not used before so I did not know the edges were quite so sensitive so I want to make this card again and be very careful not to rock the stamp so I don't get the unwanted green outline on the background piece. I like playing with glitter though and look forward to more time with it!

Glitterizing
I gliterized a card tonight and it was so much fun. I have not stamped in a long time and I really enjoyed myself. I am not posting a picture as I was playing around and just having fun. It did not turn out great but the fact is that I did it and it felt good. I am getting pumpped for the weekend long scrapbooking session I am going to in February!!
Something Exciting
So I wanted to do something exciting to write about today but it is sooooo cold out with the wind. My daughter and I took our dog on a short cross country ski but the wind was too brutal to stay out long. So, for now, I am going to post a picture of my girl on her skis. She likes it a lot so I want to get her a real set. She has Barbie skis right now but they are hard to do up with plastic strap bindings and they don't stay on as well as I would like (probably because I can't do them up properly)

Qwiki
So, I am checking out the technology for teachers, being a teacher and all. I found a site I may like though I will have to play around with it for a bit to see what kind of information is out there. I did a search on one of my very own passions; yes, rubber stamping. The sample I saw was for archery. So, it looks like there is a broad range out there to cover various topics of interest.
This is Micah
In the end chance did not matter. Love did. My daughter and I walked into the SPCA and both fell in live with Mya immediately. Since she was only three months old I decided we could change her name and she would be okay with it. My daughter wanted to call her Micah and I liked that much better than the previously suggested Cinderella or Belle.
Can't Talk
I can't talk so I will blog. I am hoping that blogging will inspire me to be more active in my life and do things I love doing so that I have something to blog about. I love stamping and scrappping and imagine there will be posts relating to those activities. I also love my daughter, my dog, and the rest of y family so I will probably talk about all of them as well.
I have no voice after having been sick most of the week but I am hoping to do something fun tonight. My daughter has a skating lesson and after that we will have to take the dog out to play. I am hoping that we have some energy after supper and perhaps my daughter and I can make some Valentine's together. She has been loving playing with my heart punches so it is time to take it a step further.

Just Me
I used to have two blogs...one for my crafting and one that I kept for my classroom. It has been so long since I have used them that I am thinking I may start afresh and who knows what one may find here.....I guess you will have to come back and see soon!
